the shoegaze blue dream haze of it the thrum of easy momentum
oh if you could have seen me back when I had nothing to lose
all teeth and grit but no car or cash to escape the dull daily melancholy
words will buy you nothing broke down, dead on the side of the road
so I grew into martyrdom a cache of love notes and obituaries in the attic
a girl in a black dress left struck in my rear view, pedestrian class
karmic disaster baby, I’ve been putting miles between us
you’ve had a long hard go of it now let yourself sleep, release
I’m going to meet the sea I’m going to dream of all that highway
and we will never meet again
