a letter from our staff

welcome to perhappened mag's fifth issue, LIGHTS OUT. for this issue, we selected the theme of "lights out" for submitters to work on and send their submissions. once again, we're happy to read your work. from this pool of submissions with copacetic use of words, we have selected some for your readership. the poems and prose in this issue are beautifully written and you will have a fantastic time reading the issue.

we will not fail to amplify the #EndSarsProtest currently going on in Nigeria and across social media. Nigeria is one of the countries where we have wide readership and submitters. our amplification of this protest against the brutality, harassment, invasion of youths privacy and social injustice allegedly carried on by the Federal Special Armed Robbery Squad (FSARS) is to add voice to the protest, and also to emphasize to our readers and the general public that we are against any form of police brutality and social injustice. citizens of any country do not deserve to be killed or harassed by security forces formed to protect them, and as a literary magazine that is against social injustice, we will always lend our voice, our heart, and our platform to the oppressed masses. here is a link to learn more.

once again, we want to thank our submitters and readers. have a fantastic time diving into the pieces in this issue. PUT YOUR LIGHTS OUT! READ!
