gears click, accelerating
wind gushing as it moves
along a steep slope and stops
when i reach the top, flashing
lights gleam over my eyes
the man behind me shouts
he rules the world, i look
down, a couple share a kiss
glancing beside me, i find no one
and i descend in fast speed
wondering why i don’t flinch
but maybe it’s because
i’m so used to falling and
then failing to be held
