meet our guest reader

Heath Joseph Wooten (he/him) holds a BA in English from the University of Mississippi and is currently pursuing an MFA in poetry from Northern Michigan University. He collects cassettes and CDs and has played every Fire Emblem game at least five times. His favorite fruit is the bosc pear, he loves white peonies, and you can find his work in or forthcoming from mutiny!, Lammergeier, Sienna Solstice, Hominum Journal, and--ahem--perhappened mag, among others. He loves you all. You can ask him about Sue and tell him he's pretty on Twitter @edgy2003blond.

enormous thanks to heath for his work in curating these twelve gorgeous pieces of poetry. we hope they'll set the tone for your summer, this pride month and beyond!

(n.b.: these pieces may contain implied sex, homophobia, transphobia, and other such themes. while pieces are individually tagged at the author's discretion, these themes are present throughout the issue. please take care of yourself!)
